Beautiful day for a hike after Friday night and Saturday morning snow. We started at 9am and there was icy conditions for the first mile with light snow on the trail almost immediately and increasing depth as we hiked up. About 12” of fresh at the top. We met about a half dozen people hiking down, passed a couple dozen and two at the top when we got there at 11:30am. Boot packed snow, we had micro spikes and gaiters which helped but weren’t essential (but recommended). Mostly sunny all day and the sparkles on the fresh snow were spectacular. We met lots of people clearly unprepared for the conditions, obviously they didn’t check WTA before hiking!
