Decided on a mellow Sunday hike today and went with Big Tree Ridge. While the main car park is shut (until Fall 2021 the sign says), there was enough room for two cars on the side of the road just prior to the old car park. We pulled over, loaded up the doggo and set off on our meandering way.
Lots of pretty flowers: salmon berries and trillium were the highlight. Not many people out at first but by later afternoon the trail got pretty popular. Partially overcast with a peekaboo view of lake Washington.
Nice to stroll with a friend, the dog loved it (but she’s not at all particular). I would do it again as an alternative to Green Lake, but there’s better, prettier trails out there.
