Day hiked to Greider Lakes yesterday, Tues 6/9, and what a lovely area! This was my first time around Spada lake, and I lucked out with cloudy but dry weather and only ran into two other parties on the trail.
This hike is well documented in other reports, so just a few notes:
- Bring your waterproof boots! Most of the trail from the old Greider Lakes trailhead to the lakes is covered in water and there's a good amount of mud.
- The area around the lakes is still quite damp from the rainy weather; many of the campsites I went by were muddy, but one or two looked dry enough for comfy camping
- The water level at the creek crossing at 1.2mi was low enough to get across easily with poles, and was significantly easier than going up to the log crossing.
