We arrived in the late afternoon and found many cars along the road and several open spaces in the parking lot. The vault toilets were in good shape, except one door did not close all the way and required someone to play "sentry." We had to eat lunch in our car as there were no picnic tables or grassy areas near the parking lot. The quarter-mile trail down to the beach was easily navigated. Once at the beach, the large rock formations were immediately visible, beautiful, and fun to explore. No long hike required to enjoy this payoff. There were quite a few people on the beach, but plenty of space between groups. Hiking could be done over the round rocks or on the wet sand. Very beautiful!
