Drove out from Bellingham so I could finally take my wheelchair on an accessible trail. Parking was perfect and loads of room for my van with a side ramp. The paved trail was great for a chair. The forest and mountains were magnificent. I was so excited to get back to a Cascade cirque and lake. No such luck. There was a large fallen tree blocking the trail (no way around for a wheelchair) about 0.1 miles from the end. It was heartbreaking. I just had to make the best of it and the drive back was filled with stunning beauty especially around Diablo and Ross Lakes. Worth the drive--but bring a chainsaw!
