Made it up to Sunrise Visitor Center at 7:40am & the parking lot was 3/4 full. Not sure where everyone was hiking but the traffic on the Dege Peak trail was quite light. Trail was dusty & the bugs were pretty minimal probably due to the light breeze we had throughout the morning. Wildflowers, especially the Lupine were just about at their peak. We saw quite a few deer, elk, and even bear tracks but only came across a marmot having its morning breakfast of Lupine just off of the trail. Overall, this is a short, pretty hike that offers a bit more unique view of MRNP and Rainier than most of the other hikes at Sunrise.
