Heather - Maple Pass Loop — Friday, Sep. 10, 2021

Maple Pass on a cloudy Friday with some appreciative international visitors - did the loop counter clockwise with the more gradual ascent and steeper descent. Happily the clouds were high so the views were as stellar as usual. Light rain began as we descended. A steady trickle of other hikers but nothing like a full on larch weekend, in fact felt pretty quiet comparatively. This really is a stellar hike. At a leisurely pace with stops it took us about 4.5 hours. Fall colors are starting, berries are ending, and the larch have not yet begun to turn.
