I hiked with a dear friend today - we hadn't shared the trail for a while. We arrived at the trailhead around 8am (the unpaved part of the road : about 1 mile: is somewhat rough - any car could do it, but you want to go slow). We were headed up gold creek trail as far as we felt like wandering (given other time commitments later in the day) & what a delightful day outdoors it was - it also felt like we had the place to ourselves until around midday. We wandered around gold creek pond clockwise - the lake is always delightful & then through the gold creek community & onto the gold creek trail. it was like wandering into patches of a neon kaleidoscope in the rockfall/avalanche paths. There was a good variety of mushrooms along the way - lots of fun. We turned around at around 3 miles (time constraints)...I can't wait to head back to explore further. for more pics - IG: @janettepowell
