Oxbow Loop Trail — Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Mossy forest

We arrived at the TH at 10:45 am. Only one other car in the lot. The bathroom is open, very clean, and stocked with TP. We parked at the main TH, not the other one just a little further down the road.

We went counter clockwise.

This is a great beginner, easy terrain hike. The entire trail is gently graded, neat gravel path, no mud large rocks or creek crossings. There are several viewpoints with benches along the way with views of the pond and surrounding mountains.

I have to say if you aren't able to visit the peninsula for the rainforest then this trail is a good substitute. Many of the trees here are reminiscent of the Hall of Mosses. So many of the maples are completely covered with dense moss. It is beautiful. We also heard tons of birds so a good place for bird watching too I expect.

The views are mostly of the mountains and the pond the loop circles, not so much the river, except for the first section into the loop.

We only passed one other hiker on the trail.

Another great trail out at Middlefork, really easy and beautiful, highly recommend to anyone wanting to get out and see the area.

We finished the trail in under an hour, and were still the only car in the lot.
