What a beautiful hike! I just got back into hiking and have been building up my tolerance for elevation gain. This a great step into the 1000 ft gain territory. My pup and I started our hike at approximately 8:45 am. There were a couple cars at the trailhead and we encountered a few people on the trail. It wasn’t terribly busy. If you have time, I’d highly recommend stopping by the viewpoint before heading to the lake. The trail was a little muddy in spots, but otherwise really well-maintained.
