Seward is one of our go-to favs for in town hiking when either the weather is meh or we don’t feel like spending time (or gas money) in the car. With my Dad in town, it made for a great alternative to our original camping plans.
It was cold and because it was windy, we headed into the inner trails where we were a lot warmer. Toddler rode and hiked and marveled at the giant cedars. Good fun.
Biggest highlight was a woodpecker who we listened to almost the whole hike. Also saw a few eagles. Parking was pretty easy for a Sat morning and we played on the upper swings after.
Some salmonberry bushes in bloom and lots of new plantings and repaired sections of trail. Pretty sure we also saw a trillium or two.
