My wife & I took a walk up the Manastash Observatory Rd on this sunny, mild day. We drove about 1 mile up the road and parked in a stand of Ponderosa Pines (no facilities), then walked the road as far as the crossing of Umtanum Creek and found a spot for lunch. We stayed my usual hour or so before heading back. Everything was nice and green and there were lots of wildflowers, both in number and variety, the whole way. We didn't see any ticks or snakes and no other hikers.
