I wanted to hike Camp Muir before the time entrance ticket starts. Got to Paradise parking by 9 am. Put on micro spikes by the parking lot. Snow was not bad and no post holing (Pic 1). Saw several skiers and couple snowshoers. Cloudy in the morning but sunny as I went further up. Got too warm and have to remove a layer by Panorama Point. Saw an avalanche on the way up (Pic 2). Just a couple folks by Camp Muir. Clouds covered the lower level, only saw the top of Mt. Adams (Pic 3). The snow was too soft for glissading. Only glissaded several times in the lower sections. More post holing to ankle level (Pic 4) on the soft snow. Clouds cleared and saw the beautiful Tatoosh Range.
