Road to trailhead is fine.
The trail is in great shape all the way to the snow. We used snow shoes and ice axes to go straight up rather than around at the final ascent. I highly recommend this route. The mapped trail takes you along the ridge to the right of the tower, and it's sketchy right now, in my opinion.
That last 1500 feet in the snowfield is a killer.
Bring sunscreen!
4.95 miles up and about 4 hours and 30 minutes. Going down took half that, I'd guess.
oh and enjoy the slide down, that's fun.

Thanks for the report. When do you estimate the trail to be completely snow free?

I don't have the experience to give an estimate. This is the first time I've been on this trail, but my educated guess would be maybe August? There was a lot of snow, and its been cold enough for more up there.
