This was a pretty hike overall, and not too hard. Lovely views of the lake for a short while before you are in the forest (for most of the hike; not a lot of variation here, but it’s lovely.) The river was pretty and would have been easy to cross (water pretty low, and lots of boulders) but we turned around. Be aware that the trailhead (gated road) is to the left of the parking area. It’s easy to miss. Went for a swim in the lake after and it was a nice temp!
Pleasantly surprised that we encountered only one hiker because it is a beautiful hike and not too far off the beaten path.
