We hiked into the lake on the Pipeline trail and hiked out on the higher route described in WTA. We hiked a little farther than the wilderness boundary kiosk on the trail along the lake. This place is VERY popular on weekends and we had to hunt a bit to find an unoccupied place to have lunch. Any flat place larger than a doormat seemed to have a tent on it. The lake is beautiful with Agnes Island and Johnson Peak in the background. The lake is a bit cool but is good for swimming. Pipeline trail has motorcycles and ATVs on it, higher trail only has hikers and horses on it.
