Blowdowns just past Skagit Queen

Overnight trip from Colonial Creek Campground to Skagit Queen camp on the Thunder Creek Trail July 13th to 14th. Original plan was to shoot for an overnight at the Thunder Basin camp, but the ranger dissuaded us because of blowdowns just past the Skagit Queen camp. The warnings were appropriate as there is about a quarter mile section of trail that is still thick with blowdowns that are at times difficult to crawl under/over. We day hiked up to Thunder Basin after setting up camp at Skagit Queen and the blowdowns added about a half hour (without packs) to our travel time. Other than that section, the trail is in great shape. Ample water access the whole way. Bugs were a nuisance in the heat of the day, but pretty light in the morning and evening hours at camp. Saw a bear foraging for berries just off trail on the hike out between Junction and Tricouni camps. Hope to return soon to make it to Park Creek Pass!
