Arrived at the upper parking lot at 9am on a Sunday - managed to find a parking spot but the lot was mostly full by the time we got there. Purchased a day pass at the station in the lot, which took credit card thankfully.
This hike was really great! Felt pretty easy - a nice bonus is that the total elevation gain for the hike is ~1600 feet but the last 400 feet happen on the way back, so its a very steady incline up. My watch clocked 6.2 miles round trip, which more closely matches the signage at the bottom of the hike.
The hike was busy but not too crowded on the way up. The way down there were lots of groups still heading up and we made sure to step to the side to allow them to pass. Just a reminder that uphill hikers get right of way!
