We camped at White River Campground and decided to take this hike. It was a nice trek out with a gentle grade. After crossing the of bridge the lake was very inviting but we intended to hike to the end and take a look at the terminus of the Emmons Glacier.
We found a trail that went down into the tough but it was poorly marked and after about 1/2 mile we abandoned hopes of making it to the toe of the glacier. Maybe next time. On the way back the little lake was too inviting and the dust from the hike was clinging to our legs so I took a short swim. It was cold but not frigid and very refreshing.
