North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
Ptarmigan Ridge by karan_s

Absolutely gorgeous 10/10 hike. I got to the artist point parking lot around 9am on Sunday, it was somewhat crowded but got parking easily. The trail itself was active but most of the people were backpackers hiking back to the lot. It was a perfect, partly cloudy day in the upper 60s, with cinematic views of Shuksan, Baker, and the surrounding mountains the entire time. Wildflowers have begun to bloom and there’s plenty of snowmelt to filter for water. There are some snow crossings but nothing that can’t be done with some boots and a trekking pole or two. The trail isn’t that steep, but it’s very rocky so you have to be careful with your footing. We did it in about 6 hours round trip but were going slow as we kept stopping every 5 minutes to take pictures. We also saw a herd of mountain goats! Would definitely return here for an overnight to get sunset/sunrise views of Baker.
