Mount Si - Old Trail by Protingas

Got to the Little Si trailhead around 9am and managed to snag a single open parking spot (yay!).

The trail was wet pretty much the entire time from the rain we’ve had lately. The old Mount Si trail had a tree down (not large) and is no easy feat. Some areas are more overgrown than other making it a 1-person wide trail but no need for any machetes or anything.

Taking a couple of breaks, we made it up in just over 2 hours to the rock-climbing end of Mount Si. The actual summit of Mount Si is definitely steep and rocky - using hands and bum to climb up and then down. Please be careful and if it is raining or very wet, I’d advise against climbing to the tippy top. On the way down, we did a mixture of the new trail and the Douglas Fir trail which took just under 2 hours.

My partner and I had hiking boots, and I had poles that I was very happy I brought today. Overall spent about 4hr 15 minutes moving and 5 hrs total on the trail today. Made it back to the parking lot around 2-2:15 PM (which was still completely full).

The new trail is definitely more popular/crowded than the old trail but the rainy weather lately and cloudy views likely contributed to the overall less populated trail today.
