Trip Report

Margaret Lake, Mount Margaret — Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

As others have said, the road to the trailhead is bumpy but fully doable in a low-clearance sedan. Easy to find parking on a sunny Sunday early afternoon.

This is a blueberry hike! Much of the trail has bushes on both sides, and many of the bushes are bursting with ripe berries. Fireweed and pearly everlasting are also in bloom.

Hiked to Mt. Margaret and stopped by Margaret Lake on the way down. Others mentioned a dusty/gravelly trail being slippery; the past week’s rains mitigated that today. Had to be careful with footing after the Mt. Margaret trail turnoff, and mind a few muddy spots down by the lake. Overall, trail is in good condition. Always love adding to my mental map of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and seeing how all the lakes and summits piece together.
