Cable Line Trail — Sunday, Sep. 15, 2024

Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain

I heard about the Cable Line trail coming up the regular West Tiger Mountain #3 trail when I bumped into some people where these two trails converge about .5 mile from the top.

At 1.5 miles long and 2000' elevation climb, the average slope is 25% which is incredibly steep. This is NOT a maintained trail. Definitely tricky in spots. Some areas are simply a trench that are extremely difficult to climb. Lots of lose rock, tree roots and other hazards to contend with. Definitely not the trail to bring kids or your grandparents.

I don't recommend descending on this trail. I passed zero people coming down it and other trip reports mention taking the WT#3 trail back down after coming up this one. I did as well. If you park at the Cable Line trailhead, exit the parking lot near the power lines. A small trail there will take you right back to where you started.

Posted a video of my trip on IG below.

Sections like this is what you can expect. This is not a normal trail to walk in some sections. It's a climb on your hands and feet :)
