Artist Ridge - Huntoon Point, Picture Lake — Saturday, Sep. 28, 2024

Made the right gamble this morning with weather zz forecast said partly sunny and then increasing clouds and that’s exactly what it was - but more like full sun over baker and shuksan when we got there at 10. Upper lot at artist point was full at 10am, but we got spots in the lower lot. No wind, perfect Mountain View’s and fall color popping through. Probably not peak but I feel like colors are a little muted this year and a lot later than normal. Hiked to Huntoon point with a 2 and a 4 year old and a dog, with lots of breaks for snacks, pictures, throwing pebbles into tarns and painting! One of my favorite annual adventure days. Picture lake also gorgeous - the lighting was better in the afternoon but no reflection. Still gorgeous
