FR 4020 has “warning” potholes right off the highway, then is very good until 4021 branches off for Ashland and Bear lakes. After the fork, road is quite rough.
Trailhead empty at 10am. Trail wet, temperature perfect. Length perfect for a group of kids with pretty much the full range of ages.
