Central Cascades > Blewett Pass
Tronsen Ridge by BDCrew

Larches not out yet.

The first mile offers a few places to get off track. Park. Start on the jeep trail, go roughly a third of a mile. You’ll see a sign for Lillian loop. Veer right. Very shortly after that is a second junction, veer left. (I believe a prior trail report describes veering right at both junctions, this definitely would get you…not doing this hike.) Then you’ll continue through the dead forest as described. At about 0.9 miles from the parking lot, you arrive to the ridge as described. Right before cresting, there is the option to turn left. Don’t (unless you’d like to circle back to the parking lot on Lillian loop.) Instead take the straight ish path that heads over the crest (and then down to the left). Great views and rolling hills await.

We ran into people hiking up from the “other lot”. I do wonder if this other lot is much easier to access, as the way this hike is described has you driving deep into the forest and then hiking back toward the highway. The section driving to the forest road is a good half hour (granted, it includes jaw-dropping views on a clear day). I wouldn’t want to do the last two miles of the forest road in a sedan. With my Subaru it was fine. But anyways, this other lot. Food for thought.
