Haven’t done this hike since before the fire a few years ago and MAN has that road gotten rough!! Would not recommend except in high clearance. I was perfectly fine in my Jeep but years ago I used to drive my PT Cruiser up here all the time, now that would not work! The trail itself is in good condition. The lower section is quite overgrown in places, clearly this trail doesn’t see as much use as it used to. Not more than a minor hassle, although spider season means that I walked through constant webs as I was pushing through the underbrush. Tons of small flying bugs at the summit that were pretty annoying as well. Small viewpoints in the first half but most of this hike is forested until you get to the top. But the views at the summit are still gorgeous and this hike is still one of my favorites!
