Writing this as I sit beneath the look out tower.
Bumpy road with some deep ruts and big rocks. I made it up just fine in my low-ish clearance sedan — though that meant staying constantly vigilant and steering around risky areas when necessary. Probably averaged 10-15 mph on the drive up.
Parking lot was empty when I arrived at 1130a.
Larches are golden yellow! I assume they have at least a few more days of glowy prime left - though there are a few very faint hints of browning.
Bring lunch! 4-5 benches at the top, including the one I’m sitting on now just outside the tower and facing NW.
