Went up on a gloomy Friday afternoon around 2pm. Only saw two other groups on the trail.
PARKING: Not much space but I’ve never seen it too crowded here. Discover Pass required.
TRAIL: Unbelievably wet and muddy. The trail is like 50% creek bed this time of year. There are about three stream crossings as well that would not be safe for a child under 5 IMO. Waterproof shoes are a MUST. And I’d actually say long water resistant pants and jacket would be good because the trail is overgrown in areas so you are brushing up against wet foliage a lot. ALSO! This is VERY IMPORTANT: there are multiple unmarked forks on this trail. You need to have a printed or downloaded trail map, or you will get lost!
DOGS: My 15lb diva dog struggled on this hike. I had to carry her a few times because of the stream crossings and deep water on the trail.
TRASH: I picked up a half drank beer at the summit and a bag of dog poop at the TH. Please do better, everyone. It is on us to pick up after ourselves, your mom isn’t going to do it.
