A beautiful hike today! About 20 degrees when we left the parking lot at 8:45 am. No other cars there. Thank you to whoever has broken the trail. It was nicely packed snow the entire way. While we kept our eyes and ears open for the possibility of avalanches, there seemed to be no danger today. The rock section is so easy to maneuver with the snow pack.
Microspikes were a must today. There are many icy spots. Poles were helpful. Snowshoes were not necessary.
There are more downed trees than we remembered, but all were easy to get over or around. The work done last year was hard to see under the snow, but a new bridge was evident. Thank you to all the workers.
Less than 25 people on the trail today. Back to our car before 1:00! A gorgeous day on the trail!
