Schmitz Preserve Park — Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
The peace and quiet you can find in this city park is unmatched!

I was curious to see what the most recent wind storm did to the trails at Schmitz so I added it to my lunchtime running route! Only saw 3 other hikers on the trail.

I entered via SW Hinds St and exited at Manning Street. There were lots of small branches littering the muddy trails and two significant trees down (one at 47.5741551, -122.3996784 just missed a bridge structure and poses potential danger to hikers underneath it!).

There are so many moments in this park when you can completely forget you're still in the city. I wished I had more time to listen to the abundant birdsong, they were clearly enjoying the warmer, calmer weather today. #LoveLocalTrails

Large tree down at 47.5741551, -122.3996784 that just missed the bridge structure.
