Weather was great, did an excellent overnight at the lookout.
Took the winter route for about 6.7 miles round trip and 4000 elevation gain. Mostly followed @unjarred_outdoors route from the trip report on 1/28. Definitely deviated just because it's easy to lose the trail.
Consistent snow around 4k feet where we donned microspikes, by 4800 feet we switched to snowshoes for the rest. Warm day made for soft snow.
Instead of scrambling up from the pass to the lookout, you have to cut around and come up to the lookout from the back side. Beware that this alternate route brings you under some cornice.
Stay in the lookout was good, but surprisingly there were 14 people up there for the night; 8 in the lookout, 6 outside. Recommended to bring a snow shovel and tent if you are concerned about sleeping outside (5 of those 6 "cowboy camped" but were fine though). This many were kind of unexpected for a winter day.
Thick fog and steel slopes on the way out, but otherwise uneventful.
