Taylor River - Otter Falls — Wednesday, Apr. 30, 2025

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Taylor River - Otter Falls by jackfhebert

Trail is in great shape! A few blow downs past the Otter Falls turn off.

Concerning part is that someone built a large A frame with tarps just past otter falls, downhill on the side trail past the boulders.

I didn’t enter it. Be careful out there.

Thanks for finding that A frame structure. Hopefully it will be removed soon by Forest service. For some reason the Middle Fork valley is a magnet for creepy people that build illegal structures. On the CCC Trail there was the creepy gingerbread house with creepy child porn in it. Another area off the CCC had a makeshift cabin with plastic tarps on the side filled with rotting canned food. Some type of survivalist nonsense.

Probably because it's within thirty miles of millions of people, and a certain percentage of them are going to have dreams of building a shelter/shed/cabin/creepy gingerbread house in the woods.

That must be a relatively recent "structure". I was down that trail to the river last year in the spring and it wasn't there.

Thanks for posting it! You may want to send a note to the Snoqualmie Ranger District if you haven't already: https://www.fs.usda.gov/r06/mbs/offices/snoqualmie-ranger-district-north-bend-office.
