Kids and I went out for Mother’s Day. The trail is well cleared for the first half mile or so, but became so overgrown we turned around at the one mile point. In addition to the overgrown weeds choking out the trail (lots of poison ivy and stinging nettle), there were several downed trees- a couple being so large/precarious that we had to scramble a bit to get over them.
we could hear the river the whole time, but only got peek-a-boo views every once in a while.
I’d be interested in trying out the Old Sauk trails as an alternative to this one.
