Just a quick trip report on Tyler Peak. The dirt road is pretty long but in fairly good condition. There is one section in the middle with some potholes although I think most cars could handle this if you're careful.
The trail itself is unmarked and leaves from the right near the parking lot. It's a steep trail and I really had to work hard to make it. The overall gain is about 1000ft per mile and it's about 3 miles to reach the top. The trail is in good shape with only one very minor 15 foot snow crossing - no gear needed. The forest part isn't that interesting but once you reach the ridge it's quite dramatic. The rocks have a greenish hue and there are also some other ones that are pink and white striations (perhaps someone knows the mineral - didn't quite look like iron to me) that make this area somewhat unique in my view. Only saw a few people on the trail which may be due to the longer drive in as well as the steepness of the grade, but if you're up for it, the views are great.
