Trip Report

Tyler Peak Trail, Baldy — Saturday, Jun. 7, 2025

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal
Water sources

Just a quick report for conditions (June 7, 2025):

Snow: just a couple patches on the ridge up to East Baldy, easy to go around. The far edge of these patches are exposed and may have cornices. Just go around.

Water: see attached photo. #1 on the Baldy trail was a trickle and likely won't be there much longer. #2 on the Tyler trail was better, a small stream. #3 on Tyler trail had substantial flow, a medium stream.

Baldy trail: very steep, only the hint of a switchback now and then. Great condition.

Tyler trail: we went down this one, the top 1/4 is very steep and it is difficult to keep traction. Honestly this was hard than gaining all of the elevation.

Baldy Peak: Easy and straightforward

Tyler Peak: One loose and steep section near the top, with careful footing I did not need to use my hands to scramble.

Peak B: Approach from the northeast side and it's easy.

Exposure on snow patches (go around to the east of them)
