FS 65 is now reopened after the fire so can get to the Poe Mtn trailhead, although need to take a well-marked detour part way up the road to Irving Pass TH (called Devils Club Road on Gaia) then back down to 65.
Trail to ridge in good shape except for 5 or 6 blowdowns first 1/2 mile - but not difficult. A few very small snow patches on the trail. If heading to walk ridge to N, there is a way trail (had pink ribbon) to left as head up to Poe Mountain, at about 5880'. Ridge is pretty much snow free and did not need ice axes at all. Rambling on ridge straightforward. Went as far as peaklet 6400' S of Longfellow (stayed on ridge to there rather than lower trail on W side of ridge that gets to Longfellow. Good views from this spot).
Great flowers on ridge and higher on trail on way up. Many types and some very abundant spots. penstemon, paintbrush, Columbia Lewisia, fescue sandwort, miners lettuce, lupine, asters purple and pink, groundsel, parsley, anemone, glacier lily, phlox, queen's cup, thimble berry, bistort, Jacobs ladder, marsh marigolds, heather, valerian.
Was a partly cloudy day and still good views to east and of Sloan, Monte Cristo, Howard, Labyrinth, Indian Head, Clark,

Phaunts on Poet Ridge (Little Wenatchee Ridge)
I'm thinking about heading that way tomorrow to do the Cady Ridge trail; did you use the Little Wenatchee Ford Trailhead to get to Poe? If so, how was the drive, aside from the detour?
