Holy bugs, Batman!! They weren’t terrible for the first half of the hike but the closer we got to the summit the worse it was. Don’t leave your bug spray in the car like I did and you should be fine. There is still some snow in a few places but it’s melting and wasn’t difficult to cross. However, that did mean the trail was wet and muddy at times. Although we did see a handful of people without trekking poles managing okay, I’d say poles and hiking boots are must for this trail.
Absolutely incredible views once you get above the tree line!
