Trail - the trail is in good condition. Some water and mud on the trail due to recent snow melt. The water isn’t more than a couple inches deep. There are some snow patches on the trail but we didn’t use any traction or poles. It should be melted in the next few days.
Lake - the lake is gorgeous! We hiked down to the lake. There is a pit toilet by the lake and camping spots. But the mosquitos were awful. There were swarms of them at the lake. I believe I can say without exaggeration, that was the most mosquitos I’ve seen in one area in my life.

It’s a good mix of sun and shade. The last couple of miles have the most shade, as you’re in the woods.
