We planned to hike the Glacier Basin trail, but the parking lot and roadside parking in the White River Campground were filled by 9 AM, so we did Owyhigh Lakes instead. The trail is in good shape with the first significant patches of snow at about 2.9 miles. The largest patch extended from there to beyond the bridge over the creek. As a previous trip report mentioned, the handrail on the log bridge is tilted downstream so not very useful at the lakes end of the bridge. We never felt the need to break out the microspikes. The scenery was great and the flowers that pop up after the snow has melted were prevalent (e.g. Pasqueflowers, glacier lilies, springbeauty).
7.4 miles RT, 1550 ft of elevation gain, fewer than 25 people encountered on the out-and-back trail
