We were the first to arrive at the trailhead just before 9:00. There were 5 vehicles at the trailhead when we got back. The parking area at the trailhead is a bit small, so the vehicles were "creatively" parked. But with patience, we were able to slowly navigate our way around the other vehicles on the way out.
There is a "rustic open air" pit toilet (bring your own TP) just a few yards past the trailhead sign.
The weather was great, and the trail was dry, so make sure you pack enough water for yourself as there is no place to fill-up along the way to Mount Sawyer.
I strongly suggest using bug spray, as the bugs were plentiful when we arrived and continued with us all the way to the top of Mount Sawyer.
As far as other hikers, we were by ourselves most of the time. The hikers we did encounter along the trail, were heading onward for some overnight camping and/or fishing on Fisher Lake.
There were many flowers in bloom, as well as scenic views along the way and on top of Mount Sawyer.
The trail itself is in good shape, with a couple of steep sections after we turned up towards Mount Sawyer. Just take your time and you'll do fine.
Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed this hike very much.
