Arrived at 9:30 at the pct trailhead, and parking was nearly full with just a couple spots remaining. The old commonwealth trail and the trail to red mountain are both overgrown in places. There is one slightly sketchy stream crossing with just two logs and a mesh, and the other stream crossings would require you to have waterproof boots. Bugs weren't that bad, but that was with wearing bug spray from the start. However, a couple of the stream crossings had quite a few mosquitoes around, especially on the way down. The scramble seemed mostly class 2 at the beginning but certain sections were about class 3 and maybe even 4 depending on the route you take. Additionally the loose rocks throughout just added to the challenge. Overall it's doable though if you go slow.
