Great weekday morning hike to beat the heat. The views to driving ratio of this hike can't be beat!

The trail is in great shape the whole way up and clean considering how popular this hike is. Some wildflowers blooming here and there, mainly in the basin above where the spring and summer trails part ways. A bunch of mosquitoes above the tree line had me change into long sleeves and a hood but were bearable after that.

I was the 7th car in the lot at 6:15am and it was less than half full when I came back down. The road and lot are paved however there is a nasty pothole across 2/3 of the road shortly after where the frontage road starts curving up to the parking lot.
