Gorgeous. We saw birds, chipmunks, a deer, a LOT of horse scat, and no other humans.
We found it interesting that the trail description mentions the middle of the ascent as steep, but really doesn’t comment on the last third of the hike, which is where switchbacks disappear, the trail just climbs up, and the legs and lungs really have the opportunity to burn. Worth it.
The views from the top were mind boggling but the bugs (which were really only at the summit) had us leaving the summit within minutes. Fortunately there were several spots on the way down to choose from for lunch with a view.
Parking was easy, no facilities, no water after about a mile in. Road up til the last quarter mile easily cleared by any vehicle, a Prius might go slowly for the last bit. Did it in about 4.5 hours including breaks (with our sturdy 6 year old).
