Icicle Gorge Nature Loop — Wednesday, Jul. 23, 2025

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area

Arrived mid-morning on a weekday and there was still plenty of space to park. Pit toilet was clean and stocked with TP.

We chose to take the View trail that is across the road and travels a bit above the area. It was brushy and appears to see little use, with a tree down part way. Shady but unremarkable other than the abundant ripe thimbleberries. There may be improved views on the higher, parallel trail but the lower one we were didn't have many. After descending, we crossed back over the road and rejoined the nature loop.

At the bridge/campground area, we stopped for an extended break. The river is cold but low enough to cross over here, so I made my way to the other side to sit in the shade. Great atmosphere and beautiful water.

The other side of the trail heading back is somewhat less shady. In the spring, there are a ton of flowers along here but they are done for the year now. Easy, peaceful trail, although be aware that is can still be quite warm!
