Thunder Knob — Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025

Hiked Thunder Knob to break up a drive across the pass. Arrived around 11 and the parking lots were full and many cars on roadside but we managed to find a spot. The hardest part was finding the start of the trail as many social trails meander from the Kiosk towards the lake. Finally saw a hand written message on the kiosk map saying trail starts by campsite #9. The trail is well maintained,  beautiful and very busy. Arriving at the top we had to wait turns for a rock to sit upon to gaze at the lake as so many people were setting up cameras to record themselves. Still once we found a bit of rock away from people to sightsee the views were lovely.
