We decided to go out for a day of exploring a new trail! Here is what you should know about this hike:

-The road has some potholes, and one dip filled with water. The chief concern is how narrow the road is - mainly that branches will scrape against your car. There are minimal pull-outs for passing other vehicles for most of the road, so I’d recommend going on a day that’s not busy. The trailhead has space for about 5-6 cars.

-The trail is well-established and has mostly good tread, with roots and rocks. There are some muddy places and the trail itself is narrow from vegetation. There are a few large logs to climb over. Seems to be about 1 mile each way or a little more, but that’s just my guess!

-Berries galore once you reach the lakeshore!

-There is one campsite, located on the island (reachable by a stone bridge).

-Thank you for practicing leave no trace while enjoying these beautiful places.

-The lake water seemed a bit murky, questionable for filtering but probably fine, I might swim in it but not my 1st choice. There’s at least one inlet stream which could be a good water source for filtering, likely seasonal, that was small but running clear.

We enjoyed the hike :)
