The first few steps are like walking into a dream - misty, dark, lush forest, raging river nearby. It stays like this for about a mile. Then the trail narrows, and gets steeper. The first bridge you come to is carved wood, very artistic. The trail continues to a camp site at 3.0 miles. Ran into a couple of PCTers who said there were blowdowns further on. Me and my pups went to the next bridge (about mile 4) at Sawyer Creek and turned around. A beautiful day hike and saw only 3 people.
