I arrived early to avoid the holiday rush. Trail was as rocky as I’d read so I was grateful for my hiking poles. They helped out on the return. Since I was early there were few people at the lake but I passed many backpackers on my return. There was a trail crew replacing a bridge at the end of the lake. I had a pleasant surprise to see the animals that give the lake its name. See photo.
