Tatie Peak and Grasshopper Pass — Friday, Aug. 29, 2025

North Cascades > Pasayten
Trail near the trailhead heading up to the first pass

Overnight trip to near Grasshopper Pass. We camped adjacent to the only reliable water supply 3.7 miles from the trailhead near the Meadow Camp/Brown Bear mine. Beautiful, gently sloping trail just below the ridgelines. My wife hiked up Tatie on our way out; our dog had a limp from a sprain, so we held back.

Many camp spots surrounding the water source. Virtually no bugs.

Plenty of larches; great to revisit this hike in about a month.

Spring-fed water source at 3.7 miles. Popular PCT hiker overnight spot.
Wife (right side) heading up Tatie on our way out; the south approach is steeper than the ridgeline from the east
